Risk Analysis
InfraSure analyzes risk using asset information and model assumptions. What a result represents depends on the inputs used to calculate it.
What goes into the analysis
The Reference Asset Catalog supplies public information and assumptions for existing plants. For a hypothetical asset, you provide a location and choose a template or configure its subsystems.
Where actual equipment, insurance, contract or financing details are unknown, the analysis can use defaults. You do not need a complete set of asset documents to begin.
What the numbers represent
For the Reference estimates shown in the platform, the asset is matched to the nearest grid cell. InfraSure uses a hypothetical reference plant modeled for that cell and the asset's technology, then scales dollar losses to the asset's capacity. These estimates do not incorporate all of the selected plant's equipment or financial details. See Screening at grid scale for the calculation.
Asset-specific modeling calculates risk using the asset's site, equipment, operations and financial configuration. This allows results to reflect differences between plants with similar locations and capacities.
InfraSure builds the asset's digital twin by combining curated public information, asset details you supply and default assumptions where information is missing. The twin connects physical systems with commercial relationships and market context. Each run uses those inputs, including any remaining defaults, to calculate results.
For example, equipment damage can reduce production; repair costs, insurance, contract terms and market conditions shape the financial consequences. The Digital Twin illustrative demo shows these connections through Asset, Commercial and Market views using sample assets and assumptions.
When asset information changes
As information becomes available, you can replace assumptions in the asset's configuration. Those changes affect calculated results only after a new run uses the updated inputs.
Results depend on both the quality of those inputs and the model's assumptions. See Model Runs & Results for how to request a run.
