Add assets to a portfolio
A portfolio holds a collection of assets. Groups organize assets within that portfolio, such as a development pipeline or a fund.
Add operating assets
- Click Add Assets and check the destination portfolio and default groups.
- Choose Add existing assets.
- Search by asset or owner name. Smart search also accepts descriptions such as “solar in Texas over 250 MW”; review how it interprets your request.
- Narrow the results with filters such as technology, capacity and status.
- Select assets, check the selected asset count and MW, then click Continue.
Create a prospective asset
- Type: choose Solar PV or Wind.
- Spec: start from a template, for example a 100 MW AC fixed-tilt solar plant, or configure subsystems.
- Location & name: name the plant and set its location using search or the map. Check its capacity before adding it.
The plant joins the portfolio and receives benchmark estimates from its location, technology and capacity. Treat these results as benchmark estimates, even if you supplied more design details. A result includes those details only if it says so.
Organize the portfolio
Assign assets to groups to compare a pipeline, fund or other subset. On Home, use Scope to select a group. On Assess, compare groups in the chart. Check the active scope before interpreting a summary number.
Shared assets and explicit groups
Portfolios in one workspace refer to the same Workspace Asset. Adding a plant to a second portfolio does not make an independent copy. A Baseline correction therefore affects the asset in both portfolios.
Groups belong to one portfolio, can overlap and use explicitly selected membership. They are not saved rules that automatically collect new matching assets. See workspace ownership and permissions before changing shared asset information.
