Compare and shortlist assets
Assess compares assets on a consistent benchmark basis. Use it to find differences that merit further investigation.
Set the comparison
- Open Assess Settings.
- Choose Continental US or ISO Region as the benchmark cohort.
- Choose Early-Stage Developer, Late-Stage De-Risked, Revenue-First or Hazard-First, or set Custom weights.
- Review which red-flag rules are active.
Changing weights changes how risk families contribute to the index. It does not change the underlying physical-loss estimate. Compare scores using consistent profiles and cohorts.
Read Risk Positioning
Each bubble is an asset; size represents capacity. The horizontal axis is Risked Revenue. The vertical axis is Hazard Loss, or Climate VaR when selected.
| Position relative to the chart averages | What to investigate |
|---|---|
| Higher revenue, lower loss | Check costs, contracts and other constraints before treating the asset as attractive. |
| Higher revenue, higher loss | Investigate the physical-loss drivers and whether the revenue assumptions justify further analysis. |
| Lower revenue, higher loss | Examine both the revenue basis and hazard exposure. |
| Lower revenue, lower loss | Review whether the lower revenue fits the project’s costs and financing. |
Interpret the summary labels
Strong candidate identifies assets with above-cohort revenue and below-average Hazard Loss. Needs a risk conversation identifies assets with high hazard losses relative to their cohort. Both are screening labels, not investment recommendations.
A lower benchmark percentile means lower relative index risk. The percentile is a rank within the selected cohort; it is not the probability of a loss.
