Glossary
This glossary explains the terms used in InfraSure. Metrics, such as Hazard Loss, Climate VaR, DSCR and their percentiles, are defined in the Metrics dictionary, not here.
Amortization
The loan repayment pattern: Level Principal, Level Payment or Sculpted.
Asset value
The valuation basis used for a result. Benchmark value scales the benchmark asset to capacity; loan settings can use a separate value.
Asset-specific result
Detailed analysis of a plant; verify which inputs are asset-specific and which remain defaults.
Benchmark estimate
A result based on the benchmark asset matched to the asset’s cell and technology and scaled where appropriate.
Cohort
The group of assets that the benchmark percentile compares an asset with: Continental US or ISO Region.
Exceedance curve
The probability that loss exceeds each amount.
Group / Scope
A named subset of portfolio assets / the selection used to filter a screen.
Hazard Drivers / Climate VaR Drivers
Hazard contributions to the relevant loss measure. Check which measure is selected.
Horizon
The selected present-day or future year for a Home view.
InfraRisk Index / breakdown
The weighted score / its family scores, underlying hazard scores and red flags.
Insurance Premium
An illustrative annual premium derived from a benchmark and scaled to capacity.
Lever / Scenario Builder
An available change / the tool for comparing up to four changes for an asset.
Occurrence
The frequency with which recorded events reach the site.
OpEx
Operating expenses used in the cash-flow calculation.
Performance Assurance / Power Outage
Parametric risk-transfer tools available through Mitigate.
Portfolio / Prospective asset
A collection of assets / a planned or hypothetical plant added for assessment.
PPA price
A contracted price per MWh entered on the Profile.
Red flags
Issues identified by active pass-or-fail rules, displayed separately from the weighted index.
Resilience measure / Measure Library
A modeled equipment or operational change / the catalog of those measures.
Return period
A way to express the annual probability of a loss. A 1-in-100-year loss has a 1% probability each year. It does not mean that the loss happens every 100 years.
Risk families / Risk profile
The five categories in the index / their selected weights.
Risk Positioning
The Assess chart of Risked Revenue against Hazard Loss or Climate VaR.
Run Detail Modeling
The Profile action for requesting asset-specific analysis.
Strong candidate / Needs a risk conversation
Assess screening labels based on revenue and hazard comparisons with a cohort.
Tenor / TIV
Loan term in years / total insured value.
Top hazard driver
The hazard attributed the largest share of portfolio Climate VaR.
Weather Alerts / Needs attention
Active agency weather notices / Home’s links to items for investigation.
With measures
The modeled result after every included resilience measure is applied.
Workspace and model concepts
Workspace
The organization’s shared environment for assets, portfolios and related work.
Reference Catalog / Catalog Asset
The central source of plant records / a real plant’s record used to initialize a workspace copy.
Workspace Asset
The shared representation of a plant in one workspace; portfolios reference it rather than making their own copies.
Benchmark Asset
A standardized plant design and value used across grid cells.
Baseline
The asset’s default Scenario, representing its current workspace understanding.
Configuration / Scenario
The full set of effective inputs / a saved set of those inputs for one asset.
Model / Model Run
A calculation method / one execution with captured inputs.
Metric / Result
A defined quantity and units / a calculated value for that quantity and context.
Analysis / View
Detailed inspection of Baseline or a selected Scenario / a question-oriented presentation of its results.
Scenario Planning
Exploration and comparison of alternatives using the same saved inputs and results as Analysis.
Updating (beta)
The label on previous results while replacement results are calculated.
Report
A fixed generated snapshot of selected scope, content and results.
